Traci Kimball, MD CWSP, is the Founding member and general managing partner of Traci A Kimball MD PC, operator of The WISH Clinic® and general partner of WISH Expert Consulting LLP, respectively. Otherwise known by her patients and esteemed colleagues as, The Wound Wizard™, Dr. Kimball received her undergraduate degree in Zoology from The University of Texas at Austin and her Doctorate of Medicine Degree from the University of Texas Medical School at San Antonio. She completed her general surgery residency at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus and completed vascular surgery research at the University of Utah. She graduated in 2023 with her Master’s Degree in Business Administration in Healthcare Executive Leadership from The Denver University Daniels College of Business. She is a general surgeon by training and holds her certificate of additional qualification from the American Board of Wound Management as a board-certified Wound Specialist Physician.
Previously, Dr Kimball was the Medical Director of Wound Management Services under the InnovAge Greater Colorado PACE brand, from 2016-2023. Within PACE, she championed wound and vascular outreach services, developing a coordinated wound and vascular service among multiple settings and disciplines, and successfully promoting patient-centered wound management and quality care.
Additionally, Dr. Kimball’s career includes: Medical Director of Surgical Services and Woundcare Program at Kindred Healthcare from 2014 to 2015. Prior to that,she was also a Physician at Accelecare Wound Professionals,LLC from 2012 to 2014.Earlier, Dr Kimball was a General Surgeon and Hyperbaric Woundcare Physician at Skyridge Medical Center Advanced Woundcare Center from February 2014 to July 2014. Dr Kimball is also the Member of advisory board of Histologics LLC. She has specialized interests in Executive Healthcare Management, Wound care, Clinical Research, Complementary medicine, ACLS, Diabetic Neuropathy, Internal Medicine, Translational Research, EMR and Ultrasound.
In these roles, she provided bedside advanced wound management services, provided administrative oversight of wound care and surgical service lines, directing bedside advanced wound care to residents of skilled nursing and Long-term Acute Care facilities. Her subject matter expert services have her providing advisory for high utilization cases in wound care and legal discovery. Her business development consulting services offer administrators and executive directors of community network partners the option for audit scenario planning and revision of facility best practices and guidelines for a variety of wound etiologies and chronic skin conditions in compliance with regulatory standards set forth by CMS and pertinent advisory boards like the National Pressure Injury Panel.
Dr Kimball displays a passion for her field, participating heavily in community, patient, caregiver, and clinician education locally. She is currently on the Board of Directors for the Ostomy Association of Metro Denver. She also contributes to the wound care literature nationally on wound-related topics in partnership with Wound Care Learning Network and has authored manuscripts featured in Today’s Wound Clinic. She has held multiple leadership positions and serves as a mentor to many nurses and nurse practitioners.
In her free time, Dr. Kimball enjoys watching her son play competitive league hockey, and her daughter soar as an elite cheerleader.
